About
Lacey McGinty
Quilter, Longarmer
I’ve been quilting for 15 years—hard to believe it’s been that long! My quilting journey began on a whim when, just one month before Christmas, I decided to learn how to quilt (and sew) so I could make quilts for my nieces and nephews.

That month, I made six quilts—and I haven’t stopped since.

Like many hobbies, my time and focus ebbed and flowed over the years, until I finished Nefertiti (pictured) and brought her to The Quilt Store for backing. That visit changed the trajectory of my quilting career. The shop’s owner, Dawna, offered me a job and introduced me to longarm quilting.

I’ve been working at The Quilt Store in Broomfield for the past two years (and still do), where I learned to operate the very longarm I now own—Gerta the Gammill! During my time at the shop, I’ve quilted hundreds of quilts in a wide range of sizes and styles, each presenting its own technical challenges. I’m well versed on this machine and confident that you’ll love your quilt when it leaves my studio.

To me, quilting is a world of endless possibilities—color, texture, movement, theme, and design. I’m continually inspired by my clients and love collaborating with them to bring their visions to life.
